Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,

Ezra 1:1 NKJV

How amazing is this, "that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled" . We are the mouth piece of God! Jeremiah's obedience to declare the word of God resulted in a Change in History!

The book of Ezra shows how the temple of God was rebuilt after the Isrealites had fulfilled their time in exile according to the word of God spoken by Jeremiah. God even says in Jeremiah 1:12 that he watches over his word to perform it. And he did. He even moved the heart of the king of the nation in which the Jews were exiled in to accomplish the matter.

As you read on in Ezra you'll find that the Jews that went back to Jerusalem to start rebuilding the temple encountered some trouble from their enemies, even to the extent that the work of the temple was stopped. However, God again stirred the heart of another king- king Darius - to finish the matter. He even commanded that the cost be covered by the king's expenses from the taxes. The rebuild was fully funded not by the Jews, but the very people that tried to stop them! God did exceedingly, abundantly above all they expected.

God says in Isaiah 55:11 NKJV

" So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. "

And his word prospered. And it always will, but for a moment there it looked like a dead situation, all the hard work had suddenly come to a stop and they had no power to do anything otherwise... But God. He made it happen.

I don't know what situation you have declared life over that now seems dead, but I encourage you, just as I am encouraged by these scriptures to continue looking at the word of God and not the situation. Continue to declare what God has said - not what others have said or what you even think about it but what God has said.

Why?

Because he watches over his word to perform it.

Because his word - which he speaks through our mouths - does not return to Him void without accomplishing what he sent it out to do.

So child of God open your mouth and speak. What kings, presidents, rulers or gentiles need to be stirred up by the word of God spoken through you?
